Upgrade: Search

We've completed some upgrades to our Search view and wanted to keep you posted.

Searches are a huge part of an online database application so we recently added some nice functionality:

Advanced Filters: give users the ability to build advanced searches with filters like greater than and less than.
Default Values: set default values that will initially populate the search.
Instructions: add instructions to give more context for search fields.

New Functionality: Multiple Selections

We recently added some much needed functionality to our our Multiple Choice field: multiple selections.

We found a lot of applications where our users wanted the ability to select more than one of the options, so we've added two new layout options:

New Functionality: Image Thumbnails

Managing images in an application can be a nightmare, particularly if you're working with multiple versions and thumbnails.

We just made this a lot easier in AppNowGo by adding automatic thumbnail options to image fields. You have up to 3 options for resizing the images:

These thumbnails are then created automatically for every image and can be used through out the application. We use a thumbnail in our recipe database demo app for listing all the recipes. The larger main image is then displayed when your viewing the details of a single recipe.

New Functionality: Lists

Tables work great for listing multiple records of data. But if you're including images or want a more flexible layout then you need a better option.

Today we're announcing our new Lists view. This allows for much more flexibility in displaying multiple records.

Here's an example of using a list in our Recipe Manager demo app:

App Launch: Schreiber Pediatric Fundraiser

High on their wish list has been an online fund-raiser, where anyone could sign up for one of their fund-raising events (like a softball tournament or marathon), and create a page to solicit donations from friends and family.

Ever since we started working on our open beta we've had a comprehensive support system at the top of our priority list.

A major piece in that puzzle is our AppNowGo Support Desk. It's starting to take shape nicely, and we'd love for you to check it out.

Access the support desk at any time from the app builder.

We want the support desk to be the foundation for all of our support efforts, where our users can:

learn about AppNowGo with tutorials and walk-throughs
submit support tickets

Upgrade: Tables

We've upgraded the look and functionality of every view in AppNowGo, and we want to start sharing some of the details.

First up, tables. Tables are critical for any online database application, especially if you need to display tables with a lot of data and complex columns.

Welcome to AppNowGo

So after a year of working on AppNowGo we've finally decided to start an official corporate blog!

We are about to move into open beta- a fancy technical term that basically means anyone can sign up and start playing with AppNowGo.

Up until now we've only allowed a few hundred users to try it out. We've learned a ton in that time and we've used that knowledge to make some major upgrades. We're really excited about this new version and can't wait to see how a wider audience works with it.

We'll be using this blog to post updates on new features, upgrades, tutorials, and other important notices that will keep everyone informed as we finalize our beta process and work towards launch.

So stay tuned, lots of exciting stuff to come.
